报告简介:Baryon number violation (BNV) has been experimentally searched for since many years, and stringently constrained in the nucleon sector. Recently, we have classified for the first time the triple-quark operators responsible for BNV according to their irreducible representations (irreps) in the chiral group of three light quarks in QCD. We found that two irreps are known and the other two are new. We accomplished chiral matching of these quark operators at each of their leading chiral order to the system involving octet pseudoscalars and baryons, which turned out to be nontrivial for the two new irreps. Our result offers a solid starting point to the study of BNV in low energy processes. We illustrated phenomenological applications by a few examples of BNV nucleon decays into new light particles as well as into standard model particles. By incorporating the octet vector mesons into the system, we showed how the degeneracy in Wilson coefficients of effective interactions can be broken by synthesizing experimental constraints on nucleon decays into a vector or pseudoscalar meson.
个人简介:廖益,清华大学工学学士,中国科学院理论物理研究所理学博士。曾先后在清华大学物理系、莱比锡大学理论物理所、南开大学物理科学学院工作,现任华南师范大学量子物质研究院教授。从事粒子物理理论研究,近几年的研究兴趣包括暗物质粒子和中微子的唯象学及相关的有效场论。
